iCal Icon    Managing birthdays on a calendar

You can keep track of your friends' and families' birthdays by creating a birthday calendar that automatically includes all the birthdays listed in your Mac OS X Address Book.

1.

Open Address Book (in your Applications folder) and make sure you've created an address card with birthday information for each person's birthday that you want to track.

For more information about adding birthday information, open Address Book and choose Help > Address Book Help.

2.

In iCal, Choose iCal > Preferences.

3.

In the General pane, select the "Show Birthdays calendar" checkbox.

All the birthdays in your Address Book are automatically added to the Birthdays calendar. As you add or remove birthday information in Address Book, your Birthdays calendar in iCal is updated. You cannot make changes to the Birthdays calendar yourself.

You can also publish your Birthdays calendar on the Internet so that friends and family can view it using iCal or a web browser. For more information about sharing your calendars, click "Tell me more."
